Unhappy Distributor Drive removal tool?

I can't get the distributor drive out of the case. Engine is in longblock form. I used a magnet to pull it up while rotating the crank slowly. It keeps getting to a certain point then binding on the crank gear.

What else can i do?

Does anyone have a tool for this (in the GTA)? Can i borrow it?

Pete

If the engine is out you can flip it upsidedown.

True but that will be a mess. Whatever oil is left in the motor will be everywhere!.

BTW, I got my autocraft pickup and it DID come with the fitting.

Hello
just take a look underneath the drive for a washer or washers, not a very good idea to leave them inside the engine!!

Hi

Silly question. Do you have the fuel pump removed?

Thanks Lanner, I'll call you.

The fuel pump in removed. I can see a coulpe washers underneath the drive. I should be able to contain them.

I use a pencil, just ram her in where the little spring should be after you have removed it (she should be nice and tight), and in the famous words from John Haynes simply remove.
