Camber issue & pinch bolt problem (early 944 brakes to 1303)
Hey, i got my early 944 bakes mostly instaled on the front, the problem now (well might not be a problem) is the pinch bolt that goes through the spindle to attach on the 17mm Kerscher ball joints, its a M10 somthing but the bolts i am using allow the spindle to move up and down slightly when not tightened down (only interted through the hole), if i remember right, the stock beetle pinch bolt never allowed this... but im not sure since its been a while since i took that all apart and dont have the stock ball joints to check.
The M10 bolt i got is fully threaded (all the harware store had) and is 8.8 rated, is this fine? or do i need a bolt that has a smooth surface then threads (forgot the name of that kind of bolt). Also, how do i resolve the positive camber issue with this setup? Its very bad with the suspention fully unloaded, will it even out once on the ground? (i have no Porsche lugnuts yet to find out) Thanks, Jonathan

The stock bolt is 10.8 I think and only threaded where its needed. I would probobly try and find some of these. Its one of those things that you could probobly get away with, but for peice of mind etc....

You must use a shouldered pinch bolt for this joint. For everyones peace of mind

Ok, i want to anyways... i got the bolts i have now to test fit, but didnt know if i would have to get new ones or if i could do without. sounds like its best to get the correct one .
SO, where can i find this sholdered bolt? as i have not seen one at any hardware store here in our town, does a stock 944 unit work?
