I saw a car a few years ago when I first was interested in the German Look that grafted in New Beetle taillights for the rear and Mini-Cooper headlights for the front. I don't think I saw the car on this forum -- maybe on eBay or theSamba for sale (not sure). I thought it looked a little awkward.
There are aftermarket flat taillights that are an easy swap with the elephant feet taillights. I think they look better. If you have a pre-'73 model year, you may want to get rear fenders with the elephant feet cut-outs -- another easy swap. (If you do insist on using the real New Beetle taillights, the newest ones I have seen on the convertibles look better than the versions from previous years. Either way, the reversing lights will be separate.) |

Where did you get the Cellons in white/red/white? I have those taillights also at home - but mine are yellow/red/white.
