Help in type 4 2L engine.
I Vujade ,i have a type 4 2L engine code GD,7.31CR.
The engine is installed in a bus and i want make more power. If increase a CR(wich is max CR) can i obtain in this head? If i work in heads,298cam,lightened flywheel,eshaust header duall 34,3.88 trans,can arrive to 95-100HP. Regards.Mario. |

I am no T4 expert by any means, but from what I have gathered here and on STF is that the bus 2.0 heads are the least desirable of all heads for performance T4 motors. To start with they have very small valves (37 x 33) compared to (42 x 36) on 914 2.0 Heads & (41 x 34) on 1.8 T4 heads. A stock 2.0 914 motor makes 95-100 hp depending on pistons used (flat or domed). So you are better off finding a set of 2.0 or 1.8 914 heads, they are a much better starting point. Help inType 4 heads
Vujade,thanks for your information.
Is no easy find 1.8 heads here,but can i use 1.7 head in a 2L engine.?Have some vantage ,versus 2L heads. Regards Mario. |

Yes I here 1.7 heads are also good, some people even like them better the 1.8's.
You will have to have the valve sizes increased though to 42 x 36 because the 1.7's have smaller valves then the 1.8's/ From what I have learned, anything is better then the bus 2.0 heads for performance.
