New addition to our family

We recently added another member to our growing vw family. A Tornado Red 2004 R32. 1 of only 5000 built that year, and 1 of only 500 red. Rarer still, is the red with cloth seats. Only 63,000 miles. It runs and drives great. The front turn signals have been shaved, along with the antenna.

First pictures

After I gave it a good hand wash yesterday. I also removed the rear window tint. I couldn't stand how dark it was.

Sweet! I have a thread. I would like to thank Dave (NO H2O) for helping me get this thread started. You are the Man!!

I understand my new ride isn't air cooled. But I love it none-the-less.

A couple of more pictures after another wash. I just realized, I don't have any interior pictures, I guess I'm not a big fan of interior pictures.

Thanks,

Ahh, the sweet sound of the VR6!

Cloth interior? Uhh, I didn't think they made them with cloth. The Koenig K5000's that VW used were only in leather for the US market. Go get the leather seats back and give me the ones you've got in it now!

Nice car Mikey. I like the R32 as well. I would love to have a pair of the black leather seats from one. Could you measure them so I could see if they will fit in my 1302? I would hate to buy a pair only to find they wont fit.

Haha, I know a guy that bought a set of seats and were too wide for a Ghia! And Ghias are huge.

Sorry Dave, I havn't been on in a few days. Very busy at work. I will measure as soon as I can. I've found some used and the people selling are very proud. $$$

And, it's not the 2.8 VR6. It's a 3.2 VR6. But I took these real quick. I was under the impression that the only option for the us MKIV R32's was either cloth or leather.

Well hell's bells! I stand corrected! I just checked our spec sheets and leather was part of a package. I've never seen one like that because in our area, the dealers only had full leather versions which is what they ordered for our 'demographics'.

No matter the seats, enjoy that sexy exhaust note on those daily drives.

Friday, my wife and I drove our R to Effingham, IL for their first inventory blow out. After walking around for a little while. I didn't see anything, so we drove to St Louis. Now we're staying the night in St Louis. The R runs like a top.

I love my R!!!
