My new Beelte

What do you guys think of my new Beelte? I can not and would not try to take credit for the paint job. He tried to match the '67 Bahama Blue. It's close.

Pictures.

What do you guys think? I'll try to bring it to shows with me this summer.

This is a picture of my bug next to the latest car he painted.

The neon kit on the car above, me made all of it from scratch.

Here is a link to another forum where the pictures are posted. http://forums.radiocontrolzone.com/s...=1#post2182009

Is the snow in Kentucky usually that deep, and the roadside shrubbery always that big?

Haha, I had to dig it out this morning. Those shrubs are huge, they're like trees.

Pretty slick Mikey! Don't look like you got much head room either (unless your only 10 inches tall)

Me thinks there is too much chrome on that Bug for the German Look styleee..... And dem funny fings on the roof is going to cause way too much aerodynamic drag

wicked! Posts like this gets me in trouble, cause I get blamed for having too many hobbies/interests.... Good thing there isnt a hobby shop with dem fings close by me!!! The missus will kill me.

I'll check it out. I got it off ebay. A company made it named Tamiya. They havn't made that particular kit for about almost 10 years. I've seen in some places they're going to re-issue the kit again. www.towerhobbies.com. I seen on a few sites they won't be out til late march.

Yeah, it's not Germanlook. It's VERY close to being real though. I told a friend of mine into rc cars about me buying it, he begged me to paint it. Like I said above, it's 10 years old. You don't find many. I had no idea they would re-issue it. My next bug this size will be more of a Germanlook theme. Those things on the car are the body post to hold the body on.

I was wondering how many people would mistake it for a real car.

Thanks, I had a chance to buy one new almost 12 years ago. But it had to be special ordered from Japan. And I HAD to buy it if it was ordered.

I told the guy that painted it, I don't care what you do. I just want it to be real scale looking. I love it. I can't wait to see it in person. He told me the decals were a nightmare since they're 10 years old, they dried out. He said he did the best he could. About 23 hours in the body total, I think.

Hey Mike,

That's awesome !!
I certainly had to do a doubletake on that one

I always wanted one of those RC Baja bugs.... but they are hard to come by...plus I already have too many projects and not enough time...

Rob.
