the end?
i don't know if any of you have heard this. it might be a rumor. but supposibly (<-spelled wrong) this is that last month they will be making the old style bugs in mexico. anyone else heard ? is it true?

I thought that I read that the last ones rolled of the line last month, 50+ yrs of production what other car can say that. (If cars could talk that is) Pretty impressive JR

From what I understand, the last beetle will roll off the line July 30th, 2003. I've been hearing this info on the VW Vortex for months now. It's true.
Sad? Yes. However, all things come to an end. As long as we're out there under our cars the Bug will never really die.

its true.
a friend of mine placed a conditional order last week for one of the 3000 last edition cars.. fully spec'ed, on the condition that it really would be one of the last ever beetles (not just production moving to brazil or some other country like before....) they took his order! |

Actually today is the last day of production.
