This is indeed bad news. BUT, I have to say at least the governmet gives you a chance to pass a 'super'MOT test. And that way, you car is still legally on the road. All you have to do is get insurance, and you should be ok.

Please spare a silent moment for those fools of us who lives in France. Here we can not make ANY such chages to the car. Anything non-stock is illegal. And if caught or in an accident, you get into BIG s**t.........

I hope for your sake that this does NOT go/get through the process!

I call bullsh*t..

Few questions

1) What is the source publication and why isnt there a reference at the top of the pages of the magazine?

2) Why would the DVLA organise such legislation, surely the VOSA would be involved?

3) Very similar rumours to this have done the rounds for the last few years and they all were complete rubbish.

Hi Kev Rooney here , yup , the guy that features in that article. I can assure you it's not an April Fool joke, I only wish it was ! I've been working on this for over 2 years now and I can assure you the threat is VERY real . I can post a link in a moment to the details on the DVLA and also to the reply document that has been sent with proposals for a modified class that will protect us all.

ALL the performance orientated mags were contacted over 6 months ago with mixed response. However the article above has created great support from the aftermarket.

http://www.dvla.gov.uk/public/consul...procedures.htm

Paragraph 29 and then look at the recommendations below para 32.

VOSA WILL take it on ONCE DVLA have forced it through Parliament.

Reply document

regards
Kev Rooney

PS The article comes from CAT mag a trade publication and teh nest issue will carry more in depth details of how it would impact if allowed to go through unchallenged.

Don't feel complacent 1 I have access to loads of info ,much of it sensitive, that shows this is the thin edge of the wedge

Everyone can just sit back ,say it wo;'t happen and look surprised and say " why didn't SOMEONE stop this ? ".

We are carryong on the fight and even have funds underway to fight it through the courts if necc. If we mange to save car modifying you'll be able to say " See , I was right , told you it wouldn't happen ! "
