caliper upside down?

I am mounting 996 calipers on 944 arms. These calipers have different size pistons and I assume that the small piston is leading. Is this correct?

With the bleeder up, the larger piston is now leading. Is this a big deal, or can the bleeders and balance pipe be swapped?

I can't remember off the top of my head if I swapped the rears or not, check on my website as I have used the same parts as you. If the calipers are the wrong way round you will get tapered wear on your pads & decreased brake efficiency.

Hi

I had the same issue. You can mount them so that they are facing the correct way by swapping the bleed nipples over with the fluid cross feed tube, cunning Italians.

I did the same with my 993 rear calipers, as on the 911 the rear calipers are mounted on the front of the rear wheel, while my rear 944T set-up on the bug has the calipers behind the rear wheel...
Be carefull removing the bleeds. Use a socket, not a spanner

Hi

On the cross feed tube make sure you use a proper brake line spanner.

I thought that it would be OK to swap the balance and bleed, but thanks for the confirmation.
