Question 993 Brakes on a......

In my case a Bay window, but I guess most of you guys have uprated brakes fitted to Beetles...
How do you mount the new 'BIGGER' caliper, is there any specific things I should or shouldn't do when making up the mounts? type of metal ect....
Any pictures of how you have tackled this would be great.
Are there any sites which cover this, Iv'e done some search's but can't find anything.

Rob.

look in the tech article section of this site. there are several brake conversion articles there that will have some of the answers for you. i don't know buses well enough to chime in with any quality answer. most likely you will need to modify the spindles for the caliper to mount and/or add an adpater or spacer to center the caliper over the rotor.

pillow has done a 944 conversion, but he is MIA for the past couple of months. panelfantasic has also done a conversion on a splitty.
