I'm building a 72 std, and I know there is at least one other person on here with a 60's model std. Anything can be a GL, even T3 and busses.

Almost anything can be a GL looker

There are a few splittie guys here and I think even a few baywindow bus GL guys in Europe.

I think a standard beetle is easier to GL since there is less pieces to fiddle with as compared to a Super. But currently I only know of Supers that actually race on the tracks..? Someone correct me here if possible.

I've got a 74 Standard ... check out my profile in the members section. You can also look in the galleries on the main page ... lots of GL standards around.

I will be driving my standard on the track this year and will report back with videos on how it handles

sandeep and Zen, both of you need to start terrorising the PCA events this year! At least some rice at the SCCA auto-Xs!

The local PCA will not let you run anything BUT a porsche ... I can run a POS 924 but not a bug with a 914 trans/engine, 993/930 brakes, 911 wheels

BUT .. the local BMW club lets you run anything !!! Its a start

they have open and closed events down here. i was really speaking to SCCA though. i don't feel the need to educate the Porsche guys as much as i do ricers.

but i digress. we are off topic.

YES a standard makes a fine GL. a super is a better performing platform though.
