Ceramic Brakes
I've read that some people have fit 996 brakes to the Beetles. How different would it be to fit the optional 996 ceramic system?

Hi there, if your car is already setup for the GT3 RS brake, then the discs bolt right in, offset is the same on the front. However, different calipers are required for the rear . The price will be the only reason why someone would not fit them, 4 ceramic discs for the GT3 cost NZ$30000 retail +GST/VAT and thats only for the discs.

Not to mention that you'd have to be running I believe at least 18" wheels to fit them.

A quick call to my local Porsche Dealer told me that all four, with no ceramic core exchange would be about $30 000 USD. The drivers front costs $7 440,28 USD.

I talked to Tony at LA Porsche, and he said he would hook me up with all four rotors and all the calipers for $16 000 USD. But act now, they only have one set.

In the beginning it was very tight but I`ve shortened the front axle and spaced the wheels out, now they fit very nice. Even the balance weights can be fitted at the right place again
