Exhaust system
Check out my new SS exhaust system. Custom made (by me)
Hanging a bit low but not lower than manifolds. Did not take away much of the sound. only high pitched tones are gone. stil got the boxer rumbling! and turbo whistle. http://v-dubs.no/haraune/album07/ Vin

Dual mufflers, cool.
Your exhaust looks really smart and you've done well to get the mufflers in the same postion on each side. I think beetles should have 2 exhaust pipes they just don't look right but not may people go to that effort.
Would the 1 in to 2 join hurt performance. It seemed to me more like a T-piece rather than something you'd see with a merged header on a naturally aspirated car. It may not matter because I doubt there's a lot of back pressure with those mufflers. Then again I'm sure you've got ample horsepower. It's fun welding up your own exhaust. They're so short an easy on a beetle I've contemplated having different ones for different moods. CYA CT |

Well the "t" piece is the part that i was not very satisfied with. Its more like a "Y" now. It should have been made from 2 90degree parts but all i had left was one 90 and one 45 degree bend. so i welded the 45 in the middle of the 90 degree part and hope for the best.
Since i`m one dimension up from the original 2" i have a total of 5" flow area where the thing split. I dont think this will slow down the exhaust gas. and the mufflers is "see trough" (very loud)
