can anyone help me with a part number?
got a part number on a disc and i just wondered if anyone could identify it
THe code is LU 5226 944.351.041.05.MIN.TH.0,751 INCH any ideas? I think it is off a 944 turbo but want to make sure before i order, it is a disk that fits over the hub not behind Adam |

It is indeed a 944 rotor. It's from a 944 S (87-89 model years) and will work in place of a 944 turbo rotor. I believe the .05 at the end of the part number indicates that it is for cars equiped with ABS. The MIN.TH.0,751 INCH means that the minimum safe thickness after resurfacing is .751 inches or about 3/4 of an inch. Machine shops use that information when the rotors are to be resurfaced and trued-up. The new dimensions of the rotor are 298mm diameter and 28mm thickness.

Quote:
477 = VW made part 944 = Non-Turbo 951 = Turbo 928 = a 928 part that was used on the 944 (late big brakes) |

thanks guys
was concerned as the 944 turbo rotors are quite expensive, but the 944S rotors arent so bad. thanks for the help. Any idea why the 944 turbo rotos cost more?? do they have a larger diameter? the disk i have is just over 11inches in diameter thanks |
