Got my GL Driveable!

after a couple months of tearing down my bug and rebuilding it to handle daily driving and making it a GL, I finally got to test drive it.. I don't have the bumpers on yet and the front turn signals i borrowed off of our trailer
I was amazed at how well the 225's gripped, i whipped arround a 90 degree bend as hard as i could at about 30 and didnt hear so much as a screech.

I was going through withdrawl all those months, but today payed off. can't wait to get my 2110 pieced together..

though i was quite dissapointed with the disc brakes. I would have thought it would be touchier and grab easier.. turns out that is not the case. I have to press on the pedal rather hard to stop fast. but it WILL stop quick if i want it to.

It even rides nice, not too stiff and not too soft, just perfect. It feels like it is glued to the road with the 225 yokohomas on phone dials.

This will be my daily driver, The paint job is not show quality.. i actually sprayed it with rustoleum rattlecans. Still have a ways to go.. I'm loving it. It's a beast.
Now i just gotta figure out how to get some track time.. or look into how much it would cost to take some lessons like i have heard about.. where they teach you how to find the limits of your car and know it's dimensions.. and how to drive it hard.

I've never seen black phonedials...Maybe I've been locked in a closet?
I like the look very much. Are you going to paint it another color or keep it black for a while? I'd like to see more pics of the side.

Badass ride...

Got a color for ya!

As much as I hate to say it (you know who will probably agree) looking at that last pic has me convinced it would look mean as sin in British Racing green w/ those cool black phone dials...hehe

I just had mine painted very reasonbly (price wise and good quality)
I waited forever, but it was worth the wait to find a good one so don't stress...
Just look what i started with and I think you'll agree you've got a nice head start!

Looks a lot like this

Or this:

I've seen it range from a sort of hunter green to a VERY dark green.
