Final assembly.

Some pics. I painted the interior, jambs, and front and rear compartments Porsche Iris blue (L39V) here at home, then dropped the body back onto the pan for the last time. After assembling the front suspension, I hauled it to a friend's shop for the exterior paint. I've been working on wiring for 2 weeks, and finally got it sorted, gauges working, and lights burning. I still have to add a fuse holder for the driving lights, and fuel pump.

Made the muffler mounting today from BMW tranny mounts, and aluminum straps.

One more... This shows the aluminum mounting plate for the coil, ballast resistor, and fuel pressure regulator, and a pic from the front.

Thanks. It feels good to finally see how it's going to really look with the color.
Makes me feel stoked about building this car again.

I'm waiting for my friend at the body shop to fix a couple of maximum flow indicators that ended up on the drivers side fenders, but other than that, the finish is done.

I'm still a ways out from being finished. I think the car needs to be about an inch lower in the rear, and a half inch in front. I also have to open the engine back up and install the right oil pump pickup tube for a GE case.

Don
I'm not sure who made the muffler Don, but it's a single 2.25" inlet, dual 2.25" outlet stainless steel open silencer. I took it, and a pair of stainless steel tailpipes off of an '04 Toyota Tundra about a year ago. The owner bought it used, and thought it was too loud, so I ended up with about 12' of 2.25" diameter pipe and a lot of nice 40 to 45 degree bends. I made the entire exhaust, minus the header, out of what I scavenged from that job, and it sounds good and DEEP!

I also managed to get 4' of 1.5" diameter 33% perforated tubing to make a pair of ANSA style resonators, which I haven't done yet. I have to use the remaining 3' to make a muffler that'll last more than a year for my neighbor's Kubota Diesel.
