Hey pete,
theres an oil leak on the suction side of the oil pump and/or galleys somewhere. when the pump stops-a-sucking, oil starts-a-drippin. Bry

Try an anaerobic sealant like manufacturers use nowadays. It only cures where it needs to and the rest* magically disappears. No more gaskets

Hello-
Try an anaerobic sealant like manufacturers use nowadays. It only cures where it needs to and the rest* magically disappears. No more gaskets Good call - Loctite 518 is such a sealant. When I put in an oil pump, I use no gaskets - just this stuff. I put it also around the pump body to seal against the case. I make lots of oil pressure, and my cast iron pump body is turning orange from rust (i.e. no leaks :-). Take care,
