this is how the car is at the moment

interior:

saftey devices roll cage
custom one off ali dash recovered in leather with vdo gauges and 140mph speedo
bucket seats
5 point harness's
rear of the car replace with a steel box section frame and dzus clip ali pannel
t handle shifter
billet ali door pins
billet door handles and custom pulls
billet hand brake lever

the only mods i want do to the interior is add a tachometer
swap the bucket seats for porsche 911 or similar in black leather and replace the 5 point harness's or 3 point ones that are more user friendly for everyday use

under the flip front:
the fibreglass flip front is a one off, underneath the mcphereson strut has been replaced with a custom bulkhead and b/j front beam on adjusters with spaxs shocks
there is also brackets for nitrous and a US foam filled 5 gallon fuel tank

Exterior:

it has obvivously been debumpered and dechromed though i do want to fit a front splitter to the bottom of the flip frotn eventually
the rear wings are fibreglass 2 inch over size and the front on the flip front are 1 inch over size
the rear valance is removable
the decklid currently has standoffs on

transmission and brakes

it currently runs standard disk brakes up front and peugot 405 rear calipers on type 3 hubs at the back
the gear box is a irs type 3 box with LSD
the rear shocks are koni units

engine:
a siezed 1600 at the moment doh!
though i am looking into fitting a golf/rabbit engine although time is against me so i could do with getting the car on the road as im currently carless as most changes i can do over time, this one i cant.......
i may just rebuild my 1600 into a 1641 next week and get the car back on the road till xmas.

I remember that car. I still have the issue of VW Trends it was in as a matter of fact. It was one of the 1st inspirations to build my super beetles up especially the flip front end conversion. Did you build it or buy it from the other owner?

I stumbled across the VW Trends issue that the car was in and thought I'd share them to show what the car looked like in its former glory!!!

This car was truly and inspiration for me to fix up my 1303's!

Can't wait to see what it looks like after the revamp!
Enjoy!
