Which Brakes
Hello,
Has anybody upgraded the 1303 brakes and hubs to anything other than Porsche 944/968/911 parts? I want to be able to use parts from the likes of the Seat Leon Cupra R, Audi TT and Golf GTI since the Porsche stuff is becoming harder to find and hence more expensive. I'm also thinking about running 18" Audi S-line RS4 wheels on my '75 1303 to give the old girl a different look. Any thoughts/tips/advice? Cheers, Chazz. |

Check out VDubcustoms.com. Lanner does every thing for a very affordable price. The quality is incredible. The machined billet aluminum hubs he made for my setup look very sexy. Very clean. He can put anything from 944 sliders to 6 pot calipers and 14'' rotors.
He is very fast with the service and the quality is second to none. Check out the setup lanner made for me at my specific specs for the front and rear on my std. T1. RX7 4 pots are incredible brakes and you can pick up drilled and slotted rotors for like $100 for the pair, and the calipers for like $120 for the pair. Drop lanner a line and he'll take care of you better than anyone else.

Another good thing about getting something other than Porsche brakes....Audi I think have 5x100...a more readily available bolt pattern on aftermarket wheels...Also, parts will be cheaper like you said....
I woulda gone that route, and have them already on the car and rolling had I not been pigheaded on what I wanted |
