coilover setup advise needed ...

hi, im getting to the stage of fitting 944t alloy arms, spring plates and coilovers etc...

Do the coilovers have to be near as damn it to vertical to work properly ? Or can they just be spaced out from the alloy arm about an inch or so and the top just using the original mount ???

any advise would be welcome

The more in line to the actual suspension movement the less friction and the better performance you will get, however I don't think you would have any problems with the amounts you are talking about.
My concern over what you are suggesting is the strength of the lower mount with those extra spacers, you will be adding a lot of bending force on the lower bolts whihc wouldn't be there normally...
