914 1.8 or 2.0 Porsche mid engine in a 68 Beetle???

I want install a 914 engine and transaxle mid engine in my 68 Beetle?

Anybody done this type of swap before????

6 or 4 cyl's??

4 cyl's been done. 6 cyl's will not fit under the decklid.

If you did a custom chassis then you could do a six mid-engine. Lot of work/money.
Many have done the T4 (914 or bus) in a bug.

I'm going to go with a narrowed rear IRS or with ladder bars and coilovers and a 914, 5 speed, side shift!
