Going Racing...

Just thought I would mention that 2 new racing options have been opened up for me.
1. The local airport just hosted the national drifting finals. They might have some more drifting next weekend. And they might start doing it once a month... :agree: That is super motovation to get the bug done.

2. I am going to be taking my bike up to the race track in Jennings FL. It is only $85 for all day open practice, which works out to about 5 hours of actuall track time. All I need is a leather suit and to tape up my headlight. The best part is that I'm going on a Monday so there will only be like 10 to 15 people there. If I'm any good at it I might buy a camera mount to take some video for the media gallery. I know its not a VW but going 150mph around a track is still cool.

The track in Jennings is pretty nice. Too bad you're not going on the weekend, I could get over there and hang out. You should get up there sometime and check out the kart racing. Those guys go all out!

Working on it. I think I might feel brave enough at the track to try a planned power slide. (drift)

Rustbucket, I would go on the weekends but everyone I work with and ride with works the same schedule as me. Tuesday through Saturday. So Sunday is for sleeping in...

Here in Norway we have a show/event called Gatebil (streetcar) where you can take your own car out on the track.
Many thousand spectators, and houndreds of cars show up for a weekend with spectakular cars such as the Dahlback 1000hp Golf, 700-900hp Toyota Supras, Fprd Escort Cosworths wit 700hp and many other crazy cars!

Check out their website: http://www.gatebil.no

I've thought about that for when I ride on Mosquito Ridge Rd, the whole time I ride it, I thinking how insane that road is and that it would be a exciting video. I got Willow Springs near me so I'll hopefully have my bike on the track soon as well (I got lucky and found used leathers that fit for a hun ).
The drifting sounds like a lot of fun, I guess across the street from me they have deal where all kinds of crazy cars autocross in the fairgrounds across the street...get this, its in the sand !

Hahaha. seems like an nice event!!!

HOLY MOLY an GT40... love that car!!!

P.s. the video stays hanging on 16 seconds... (but the sound that I hear at about 14.30 must be that golf with audi engine from dahlback.. or am I wrong??)

Could be the Golf with the Audi 5cyl engine from Dahlback, but up here in Norway and Sweden it`s quite common to use that engine in many other cars.
There is also a BMW 3 series (E36) with a Toyota Supra engine and a Mini Cooper with a Suzuki Hayabusa 1300 engine!
