looks like a 901, but I'm no expert.
Given his horrible feedback rating, I think you'd be crazy to bid on it if you couldn't look at it in person and pick it up. |

I looked at some 901 pics online and that tranny seems to have less ribs then the 901. I dunno just dosent look right. Might be my imagination.

It could very well be a 4 speed. I'm sure there are many people out there that just assume they are all 5s.
The trans number should tell all. |

Kinda looks to me like a 914 converted to the 901 layout. Sold my tranny a month ago so I would go and look but.... I seem to remember more ribs on the 914 type.

Looks like an early 901 "smoothie" tranny, its aluminum instead of magnesium it think. Its not a 914 tranny, its probably out of an early 912 (aprox 1966)
