My new motor
Well here goes. I saw a 2.0 ltr type IV on ebay. I am taking a huge chance here but wish me luck. I won the bid at $1035.00. According to the seller it was running prior to removal. He is upgrading to a 6 cylinder for his 914. Engine is complete except exhaust. Car had 76000 on odometer but probably more you think? Car looks very clean as does engine.
I REALLY wanted to go with a RAT motor from Raby but it is a little steep for me at this point. I will go fairly stock to begin with except for maybe rebuilding the heads just to be safe. Jake your motor is still in the future plans for my car. I checked at the local Porshce recycler for a 914 motor and he wanted $1500.00. Any suggestions to start with? My car is still far from complete but LL baseball is almost over and unless I coach the All-Star team I should be done soon. Last edited by greenterbo; May 12th 2003 at 16:11. |

Here is a picture of the motor. It should arrive tomorrow. Not as good a deal as ShApE got. Hopefully I can sell the parts I don't need.

In the last 5 years I have been GIVEN a 1.8 AN 412 motor and a CU 2.0l motor! Now that's a bargain :silly:
It's the cost of the rest of the Kit that adds up and makes the difference between an expensive engine and an expensive engine. I'd be happy with a complete 2.0l 914 motor for that money. Matt |
