Rear Brakes For 1303

I'm looking for someone that makes a rear brake setup using VW Golf rotors &
calipers. I picked up the front setup from VDUBCUSTOMS but so far I haven't
been able to find anything for the rear here in the U.S.A. HELP.

I never found such a thing for my 1302. Perhaps, there is a European solution.

Another possibility would be using TopLine rear disc brakes re-drilled to a 4x100 or 5x100 pattern -- whichever you are using. They wouldn't be Golf rotors and calipers but it would allow you to use Golf wheels.

I had no hub issues with combining my TopLine rear brakes and BBS/VW wheels.

I don't know if there would be any interphasing problems -- such as maintaining the use of the hand brake (important to me) or needing a proportioning valve. I was told those were possible issues when I investigated using VDubCustoms' discs on all four corners.

Since TopLine supplies all which is needed for the use of the hand brake with their rear disc set and the hand brake only affects the rear brakes, I can't think of a reason for that to be an issue. Most likely, you would be the first to have this combo, so you would be the first to find out if a proportioning valve will be necessary.

I'm very happy with my TopLine brakes. Given the fact I had to have my front wheels machined specially for the larger than 57.1mm hub holes they needed, I'm not so sure I wouldn't be tempted to try VDubCustoms front and TopLine rear brakes next time.

And I'd be happy to let you be the guinea pig.
