Yeti is THE man

Joe is the man!

We had a marathon engine session on the 912-6 yesterday at his shop. Man a lift makes that work easy. He and our other buddy Dave were a huge help, actually, they did most of it, wouldn't let me touch much since I'm going in tomorrow for some minor out patient surgery.

So in 11 hours, we pulled the motor, replaced the flywheel seal, put it back, fixed a return tube leak, fixed the brakes, got the reverse and brake lights working, and got the tires mounted for the 944, not to mention Joe fixed my truck too.

Man is it good to have friends that cool. Thanks man!!

Thanks John! It was my pleasure!

We had the engine/transmission out in about an hour or more. Three people make a big job go fast, especially when they know what they are doing.

The hard part was the alignment, and that tire that didn't seat right on the wheel. The 912 is lower than stock, so we could only get the front camber to within .5 degrees from spec.

As far as the wobbly tire, I screwed up twice. While dismounting the one tire, the rim-clamp lost it's grip on the wheel and it poped off the machine. No damage was evident, but when I mounted the new tire, it wobbled when on the balancer. I had the tread going the wrong direction so I had to dismount it and flip it over. Afterwards, It seated perfectly! Big relief on my part.

John, Let me know when you're ready to dial in the front wheel camber, and we'll do it again!
