Hello,
Any EFI system can be made to work on any engine. The computer is not engine specific
Problem is there is not any complete system availible that is ready to bolt on to a type 4 AFAIK.
CB's system come closest at the moment I think. Maybe aircooled technology has a ready to bolt on system by now.

Tell about your engine? How built it?

Regards,
Walter

Exclamation Type 4 Engine

Let Me Tell You Why I Decided To Build A Type 4 Engine. First Of All I Live In Greece And Over The Summer The Temperatures Can Get Really High. So I Decided To Build A Type 4 2,4 Ltr At The Beginning. I Bought All The Parts From James Calvert Stateside Tuning Uk And Started Building The Engine. After A Few Weeks I Decided To Increase The Cc's On My Engine So I Called James And I Ordered A New Scat Crankshaft And New Je Pistons. So I Went From 2,4 To 2,7.

Cool!
but please, please, kill the function thats lets you type every word with a capital

Motec has one of the best processors or so I believe.
However, if you have good contacts with english suppliers, the DTA set-up might be a possibility as well. I drove it on my 2,4 (100x 76,4) and will also on my future 2,7 (there is a topic about that one somewhere here if your interested)

Regards,
Walter

Hi

The most important thing to find out is what the local tuners can tune in your area, its no use getting something no body can tune for you. Motec is a very high end system with a price to match.

Im a Autronic fan, have used a SMC and I will be using an SM4 on the new car.

Steve

I only deal with cs beetle. The mechanic in that garage is excellent and a good friend of mine.

Wally, Sure there is a TIV specific EFI arrangement- All you need is the fuel hoses, everything else is 100% ready to install!

http://www.aircooledtechnology.com/s...me.php?cat=320

The best part is that no laptop is required and the next best part is it made equal power to that of Haltech and beat Autronic on my dyno all on the same engine as a fuel only system. Autronic made better power than this arrangement when the direct fire arrangement was utilized, but as fuel only all the systems were VERY close to each other.
This baby tunes VERY easy- I did the one in my 912E in the dark on a 105 mile trip- BY MYSELF- can't do that with a laptop system!

What I found after comprehensively testing 5 different EFI arrangements was the elaborate systems were difficult to tune and install and their cost simply didn't make sense. I'm using Autronic on the 3 Liter, but only because I have the entire set up ready to install.

I have fuel maps for about 18 duifferent engines now and I have no problem uploading values to help the customer have an easier experience.
