Dang thanks petevw. Nice pictures and dang nice 72. What size wheels are they and are they on stock drums. I guess 17's are the biggest you can go under the stock fenders. Are you using spacers or adapters on the drum.

Thanks Barry

Thanks Steve

I was wonder what i would need to look for if I want to go to 17's on stock drums for now. Right now just working on bodywork, but later on will work on suspension and tires. ITs not a daily driver and I have plenty of time, just dreaming now of some nice looking wheels for the ole girl.

hi was wondering if one of these would fit under the stock fenders and if so what extras will be need to get them under the fender.

if so what would be the proper offset and backspace for a 73 super with stock drums and shocks and fenders

Thanks, sorry for all the newbie questions [gotta ask somewhere hope this isn't a problem]

The rims are 17x7 ET42. They have a universal 4 bolt pattern. 4x100 and 4x112. The Super has 4 wheel crossdrilled discs with no adapters. The discs were drilled/studded at 4x100 by Lanner at VDubCustoms.

I'd get in touch with Lanner, for all your needs. He has all the info to how to make it all work.

Don't know if your interested but i have 17" wheels and 205/40/17tyres for sale in ads they are perfect offset. they include the correct 4x100 drilled brand new drums and discs. If you buy them i will include a second hand disc conversion also for a super beetle. i was going to fit them to mine but i've just bought a bay and am selling bug and bits.

Sorry its not great photo but gives an idea against bug (minus empi 8s behind them), the wheels are just back from being fully refurbed and look great though with good tyres. i'll throw in 4 spare used tyres aswell, two are usable two are excellent goodyears.
