Karmann G-Razor.
Hi, I'm pretty new here.. Just wanted to ask for ideas for my Ghia RazorEdge. (Type-34 Ghia)
I'm restoring the bodywork to original but will lower the chassie and want to make the look sort of Vintage Germanlook. In other words the wheels would be some 16" and must fit inside the stock fenders without (too much) rubbing... I was originally thinking about Fuchs 6x16 or 7x16 but I'm not sure anymore... I have bought 944 front spindles and hubs that will be modified to fit the Type-3 discbrake frontspindles. And also the rear trailingarms including hubs. The 944 parts are from a -85 car.(not Turbo) Thanks! |

For those that don't know, the Type 34 Karmann Ghia is the same as the other Type 3's (Fast/Square/Notchbacks) in almost all respects ... so if you know the answer with the question applied to the others, that answer is likely to be the same here.

Yes, that's true. The floorpan and chassie is basically the same as the other T3's. :agree:
My vision is turning towards this... (Photoshoped pix) Last edited by Hebster52; April 26th 2006 at 12:28. |

Very cool. I was committed to purchasing one a couple months prior to buying my 1302, but the seller decided to change the terms of the sale. Its color was turquoise with a white top semi-similar to the bottom photo. You gotta keep us posted.

Finally!! The parts arrived from Scotland yesterday!!
A friend of mine also needed a set of rear trailingarms so that is why there are two sets of those in the pictures.. Last edited by Hebster52; July 5th 2006 at 09:13. |

Is the red Razor yours? Are the trailing arms your first step or do you have something else in mind prior to utilizing those?

Yes, that Razor is mine. It will need a full body off resto and while I'm at it I will convert it to 4x944 discbrakes, and lower it moderatly. The rear trailingarms are just a bolt-on thing and in front I will either machine the 944 hubs to fit or make a set of custom-made hubs to fit 944 discbrakes.
The engine will offcourse be something else than stock Type-3 too... |
