Cohibra45 Super Hero

Just posted this over on Jakes forum and I thought I would share it here, getting closer all the time:

It has been a long time in coming...

Here is an little on it from Jake over on Shoptalkforums, June 2005 when I first ordered it.

[ "Cohibra's engine is getting all the newest developments including some cylinder head developments that have never been used on a street engine before. I just finished a 2739cc engine with these developments.

The preliminary specs are:
80x102
10:1 CR
RAT/HAM Ultra Performance+ heads
A-1 1-3/4 header- Sidewinder style
RAT/SDS EFI with direct ignition and 50mm RAT/TWM T/Bs
Lightened rotating mass including the crank
Billet rods
Full cryo
Full friction reduction, Thermal barrier and thermal dispersant coatings
REM Isotropic surface prep and coating to further reduce friction

All backed up by a RAT level C trans

This engine is on the leading edge, Cohibra only left one option off of his want list and that was DLC coating, we decided to save the bucks and utilize Isotropic REM to create the same overall effect...

Keep in mind that this is a full time street engine, not a race engine- It has more developments being thrown at it than many race engines do!

If it don't make 225 HP and at least 220 lb/ft of torque it won't leave my shop... All while having a 1,000 RPM idle that sounds absolutely stock with a smooth powerband that only needs 15% throttle to cruise 80 all day long.... " ]

Since then, Jake and I discussed and changed a few things !!!

1. Engine size is 105.7x84 for 2.9L of MassIVe power !!!
2. Twin plug heads similar to Mighty Spyders with a lot more development work on the port shapes (these might be proprietary, not sure). I think I remember Jake telling me that it is spec'd out around 11 to 1 comp or more. Len is still working on them as we speak !!! These might even warrant a new name (LE230SH, for Super Hero of course )
3. Chris at Tangerine has already made up one of his 1 7/8" headers with all the bells and whistles.
4. The rods are special billet from Charles over at LN Engineering.
5. Roller cam and lifters if Jake can get all the bugs out in time. I told him that I was in no hurry, so if he needs another month or three, he has my permission to get it right . I really would like to make this a roller cam engine but it is up to Jake totally. If he is not comfortable with the progress on his roller cam project, then we will go with solids.
6. RAT super finishing. Not sure if I mentioned this, but looks really cool !!!
7. Series 1 DTM color specific made with Kevlar !!!
8. RAT engine dress up options.

Jake says he has most all the parts ready for assembly. He is waiting for Len to finish the head work. Like I said earlier, I want to give Jake time to get the roller program right. I have all the confidence that he will get it right!!!

Jake, chime in if I am overstepping or forgetting.

I would like Jake to take pictures of everything and post them on this thread for all to drool over !!! PLEASE !!!

Take care and remember, 'All good things come to those that wait'
