VKG Officers

I think the time has come to let the baby out of the playpen. The forming members of the VKG have established the club, given it some care and feeding, brought some attention to it across the internet and in print of the major stateside rags and carried the torch for two years. The club is up and running and has some life of its own. My time is just killed lately with day job, web business, my family, this forum, the club, my cars...to name a few things. It is time for me to hand the reigns of the club to someone how can give it the leadership it needs and for the club officers to be named. I have talked this over with Vujade and No_H2O and both are fine with the approach.

My recommendation is to vote for:
President (leadership, vision, event coordination participation, sponsorship acquisition, etc)
Treasurer/Promotions (money person, marketing leader (merchandise and public awareness), event coordination participant)
Secretary (newletters editor, website administration, event coordination leader, etc)

These roles should be more clearly defined and documented as part of the first efforts of the new crew. I am happy to assist on-going in any area, but I just can't give any of them the full attention they need to take the club to the next level. I am willing to act as Vice-Secretary for some time since most of those duties are very tool and skill specific and I have the skills. I can use that time to train someone on things for a handoff later.

I would like to see nominations and willingness to accept a nomination be declared first. We can use this thread for that. Once those are there, we can spawn a thread for votes. I would like to see all of this done by the end of February if possible.

I will start by nominating Vujade for President. I will leave the other slots without any nominations from me to start so we can see who even has interests in those areas.

I think it is a great idea. I am willing to do what ever I can for the club. My I.T. skills suck but I'm sure I can take some of the burden. We realy do need to split up the duties and move forward. It is far too much for one person to do.

I will second. I think Joe is an excellent choice, serious enthusiasm for the hobby and dedication to the club.

Joe,
Congratulations.

Zen,
Thank you for taking the club to where it is now, we appreciate all your time and effort - especially doing it while building your car.

nope. and i do need to get them off of my plate so they can get done and done right. i'm hoping some of the members will step up here and take on some of these duties to make this club what it should be. i am happy to keep the web admin duties, but need to transition the rest ASAP.

well we should probably have a Gruppe Chat soon to discuss this.
Hopefully we can get in touch with most people via email and telephone
to arrange a meeting when most can attend so we can sort this out!
