Volvo coolers are in

I fitted 2 Volvo oil coolers this weekend. They look like they will be a great fit and not block a Cup Brace. I made stand-off brackets from 1/8 X 3/4 aluminum and they are 1.5 inch off the body. 2 small fans will be fitted to each cooler when I find some.

Try some motorcycle radiator fans. I have two or three that I will be using on my car. I will also use one of them for my future intercooler. The are like 3" X 3" to 5" X 5" depending on make and model. They push or pull alot of air for their size. Check ebay for some used ones.

Reminds me, I picked up a similar sized Jaguar cooler off ebay for cheap, and I think it has -12 an fittings on the ends. Something to watch for.

The fittings on these looked like AN, but they were British thread. I got the fittings from a AeroQuip place that makes hyd. hoses for $8 ea.

That is an awesome price... Sorry I didn't measure my fans yet. I haven't had time to get to my storage unit this week. I think the motorcycle fans retail for as high as $400 per fan...

These are equipment cooling fans, but they are brushless, light wieght and low power draw so I'm going to give them a shot. If they crap out I don't think they will go all at once. If I loose 1 or 2 I can go with something else and I'm only out $15 with shipping. Had to try them. I will post the results.

I'll still try to grab a fan or two off of a totaled bike... The salvage yard won't miss them...

Looks good Dave!

I knew those Volvo coolers would mount in there very well!

I doubt you will even need fans. No kidding, I would not fool with the fans unless you had a heat issue.

Take Care,
