How do you remove the bearing cap?
Maybe I'm just not being mean enough to them, but I can't get the bearing cap that hides the axle/hub nut off of my early style 944 spindles. I've tried prying at the little notch thingy, I've tried clamping the lip of the cap in my vise and whacking at the rest, nothing has worked thus far. Is there a magic trick or are they just stubborn? I've taken off the e-clip, so there should be nothing holding it, correct? My beetle ones were MUCH easier to get off. I'm frustrated and I've not even got them near my car!

Nevermind, I got 'em off. For anyone else with this problem, I found the answer on the Pelican parts' forum. You really just gotta wail on them. Hitting the outside rim of the bearing cap with a chisel or screwdriver and switch sides to gently rock the cap. There was also a tip about using a muffler clamp, but I didn't try. Also, don't use the notch in the hub to pry upon, that opening is so that you can access the allen head cap screw for the "axle nut."
