Question dash modifications

I need ideas to make my dash look better possibly make it look more porsche styled or even rally spec.
What would you recommend for a 1303 dash?
What have others got?

I'm reshaping mine to accept the subaru instrument binnacle, there are other 911 inspired versions but they all seem to be LHD. Anything else you are pretty much on your own I think!

How are you thinking of reshaping the original dash. I was thinking i could buy a 1303 dash top cover from a ssp or some where and add gauge pods for more of a race look. How were thinkin of upgrading yours to accept new gauges?

Hi

The worst thing about the 1303 dash is, if you have a smaller steering wheel you cant see the top of the speedo. I will need to make a custom dash for one of my 1303s, I will make a wider binnacle but also drop the gauges down to just above the steering column, about where the speedo is on a 1302.

Hi

This is the dash on my 1303 daily driver. Ive fitted 3 x 2inch gauges on the right side of the dash, I moved the headligh switch to the other side of the column. I can see all of the 3 x 2 inch gauges with a very small head movemnnt. The top of the speedo is blocked by the steering wheel, so I need to duck down or look over the top of the steering wheel to see the speddo .

On my other 1303, I will most likely move the speedo down into the checked area closer to the steering column. I have bought a combined tacho/speedo from Spa in the UK. In the extended binnacle I will fit some vents for the air con, extra gauges or the radio.

Steve

ssp what is ssp? I have a very badly damaged 1303 dash, ther is no way to do anything but replace it. I e-mail people that have new dashs, but no response. I even seen one that looked like a 911 for real and covered not painted. CSP will be my last resort.

Hi, I've just seen a members ride called the Silver Bullet. It say, its custom made from a 914. Is this member still active on GL ?
