Thanks for the pictures Wally !

Some of the rear wheels look massive on some beetles compared to others .. Is this from personal preference or does it have something to do with the classes the cars are running in ?

Love the pictures ! MORE PLEASE !

Sandeep

Your very welcome!

I guess its an evolutionairy thing: the cars with the wider wheel ran in Division W4 (type 4 engine unlimited) and were loosing grip very easily with 'normal' size wheels and rubber. What you see on some is max allowed IIRC. For the lesser powered cars, bigger wheel just meant more weight, so they didn't bother (and/or couldn't afford them).
Remember that most were just amateures on a tight budget.

The fastest cars had magnesium 10J-ish BBS 3-piece race rims with slicks ($$$, even today)

Since you asked (but are not taken by me):

IIRC, these are from a bit earlier years.

I've looked at this site over the years www.boxerpokal.de seems somebody is still racing them over there. Just not "cup" racing.

awsome pic's and allways a good referance as to what a good race bug should look like
has any one got any detail shots or specs of the cars?
i run a 03 in british hill climbs and have been trying to find info on what the kafer cup cars ran. even if it gives me astarting piont for set up. have spent 2 years guessing what might or might not work.
cheers rob
