996 front brake calipers...
I just recieved my front brake calipers in today and noticed that there is a sensor or something like that attached to the brake pads....I would like to keep the pads that are on there now bacause they're almost brand new! i there a way I could either get rid of these sensors or is there a parts I can order allowing me to put the sensors to use?

Could that be a temp sensor for disabling traction control? I know some cars have it but i'm not sure of the sensors typical location.

I think it may be just a wear indicator, perhaps when the pads wear down and make contact it lets the computer know that pads are shot?
