typ3 front battery relocation

well
because it gets cold here heres a picture of my batterys coat along with the x/member that stops my battery going forward on sharp brakeing and the rubber lined alluminium cover (needs polishing still)

the way it fits right down low between the factory front panel uprights means theres not a great mass of securing needed to be done as the ally angle is wedged up against those uprights anyway any tendency for the battery to tilt forward is stopped by that cross brace rubber cover (mil spec) fitted to batt positive and rubber lined lid should reduce chances of unwanted electrical contact!!!

hi
who needs a spare wheel anyway ive just carried a can of tyre weld for the last 5 or so years never had to use it yet and lets hope it stays that way .

you can tell the battery is up front there the car handles perceptively better it just feels more balanced like it was meant to be .

with a slightly heavier typ4 engine out back it evens things out a bit

its a simple mod that everyone should do if they want a better handling VW.
