Ive decided on this converison...
I have decided to use an EJ20 engine in my build. I need a lot of help.
I am working on getting some money up for the suspension I want which would be the 944. I can find the engine ok. I talked to KEP about there adapter kits, and for the one to adapt it to a bus tranny would run around $800 Are there any alternatives to this. That is out of my price range. I am on a serious budget for this! I know I need to run piping for the intercooler and radiator. What tranny would be the best to run with the EJ20 engine? I want to get this all figured out before I jump in. |

If it's going on to a bus trans I'd go for one of the rjes (www.rjes.com) bellhousings, you can use stock clutches etc then and I don't think it ends up being more expensive..

What about the 914 trans? IS the bus a 901?

Bus trans is NOT a 901, there is an 091 variant of the bus trans but I'm not really up on bus boxes..
914 is basically a 901 with different nosecone assembly and flipped diff.. Rich

What do you think the best trans for the swap would be?

Given unlimited cash, I'd go for a G50, that would be bulletproof and a nice shifting trans but it is BIG and requires serious chassis/body mods.
On a smaller budget, bus box for a weekend racer or for a street car a built AT box but you will have to pass on the clutch dumping.. Rich PS I'm going with an AT as I rarely really thrash my cars
