Good morning, I noted on the Thorsten site they offered a tapperd aluminum push rods. The expansion rate of aluminum, being used along with my aluminum cylinders. My question is would these push rods help with adjustments?

As I am now building a 80X102 with Nickies, I have the same question!

Hi,does anyone know the expansion rate for the aluminum cylinders. If I were to use aluminum push rods, I think it would be double the clearance, at operating temperature?

Exportbug are you posting that for a TP contact or is there some information we are looking for there somewhere?

With cylinders, case and heads made of aluminum the expansion of the components are identical. All aluminum no matter what alloy expands and contracts at the same rate. As does steel and iron at the same rate. Aluminum expands greater than steel/iron. So with aluminum pushrods you can actually run a tighter valve lash clearance if the rest is also aluminum. With steel/iron cylinders you need more clearance because the aluminum expands greater and faster.

Having slept on it, now I've learned that
with aluminum valve covers and the aluminum pushrods your engine runs quiter. A quite running engine, is something that I want. Come on Christmas
