Hi guys,
Something has been playing on my mind recently. I've always heard talk about making big HP figures from VW engines, but what about torque?
I have been reading up on the big torque Mercedes engines being built and was wondering what would be needed to get maximum torque from a VW engine. Is it as simply as building the power low in the rev-range? Or is it more of a black art than that?
I was thinking, big capacity Type 4 is the way to go, short rod ratio, medium sized valves and was thinking supercharging over turbo. But all this will add upto a low revving motor, which is from what I understand where torque comes from, or am I totally off track?
Any info would be really appreciated.
Thanks,
Cam
