Do you have any parts for cores? 5-6 k is what I would plan on spending, If you really need to know drop Jake a line.... Thats what I would do if I wanted an engine from him (he would know best) My 2 JR
I think there was a tread about this at the shoptalkforums....migth want to check it out...

Jake is on vacation.
The kits cost about a grand less than if it is assembled I believe. Thats not much considering that the turn key version is dyno tuned. and the kit is not. Jake doesn't throw a bunch of parts in a bag and call it a kit. The kit is basically assembled and taken apart again so he knows it fits, properly clearanced and all that. I'm suprised he doesn't charge more than the turn key considering he has to disassemble it for you.:)

alright i have a new question : i was wondering will whats the highest i can go on here without having to do any machining to the case. i know it says 88mm and larger requires machining but is that still true on a type 4? click here. well a 2.0 t4 case had 94's, so that is already larger then 88's.
You should be able to use 96's no problem I believe.

ShApE, as per your request via private message I am posting a reply to this topic...
I have no knowledge nor interest in the aircooled motor(s). Personally my car has a Golf GTI motor and although I own a Superbug I am more of a "watercooled guy" per say.

shape, what is the engine code on the case?
I can tell you the engine size if you give me the letters that are in front of the numbers.
You should be able to find these next to the crankcase breather tower

the letters are CB :)

CB is a 1.7 Bus motor.
It has 90mm pistons stock ;)

Good morning everyone, after posting this last night I realized it may sound rude. Well, don't take it that way at all. It's just that I do get A LOT of aircooled questions and I figure if I boldly let it be known that I have no knowledge in that area the questions will stop.
 :D

Anyone wanting to talk water with me can find me on the VWVortex under 'Superman'. Mostly in the A2 forum, I have a Jetta GTX 16V (http://www.a2garage.com/index.cfm?p=garage&cmd=detail&cid=93&uid=120&frompage=1&start=1).

How did you set up the rads for your bug? I am putting a 13bt rotary in my 1303 just wondering where you ran the water lines
