Can I use -8 an 1/2" oil hose with a 3/8" mesa 72 plate cooler?

I suppose you could but I would not run anything smaller than 1/2" (-8) fittings for an oil system. Restrictions are BAD, 3/8" may be enough but finding out it's not could be expensive.
