Yesterday I was killing time at work between jobs, and started cleaning and preparing my engine case for assembly (which would be a while from now). I haven't done much internal work toType IV engine, so I never noticed this before, but the size of the oil gallery on the output side of the oil pump looks smaller than the one on a Type I, and the size of the gallery from the filter to the main gallery is smaller still.
Would there be any benifit to enlarging these openings about 2 mm each to increase oil volume potential?
The pump I will be using is a Melling Type I style pump.
Thanks in advance.
