Here is an update on whats going on with my low budget 1915cc engine rebuild/build up.

Items i have already purchased or have: (well i have the who engine, but lots of it is worn out)
- Stock AS-41 case (looks good, no line bore needed) *used
- Mahle 94mm graphite coated P/C's
- Dellorto 40mm dual carbs w/Weber manifolds & linkage. *unsed/new
- crank gears...ect *used
- full set of German cooling tin/ stock fan *used
- stock push rods (aluminum) *used
- stock rockers
- bosh blue coil

Items im plaing on geting:
- CB performance "uni-tech" conecting rods (or stock rebuilt maybe... see questions)
- CB performance C/W forged 69mm crank
- Engle w-120 cam
- oil pump from Aircooled.net (for full fow)
- Full flow kit from Aircooled.net
- scat perfromace lightweight lifters
- 40mm/35.5mm heads w/HD valve springs & SS valves (dont know from who yet)
- 1 5/8 merged exhaust with A1 fatboy, or maybe a custom muffler made locally
- 009 Dist

Anyways those are the Main items... i have some questions those items aswell as some other options.
Here it goes...

- Fuel delivery, is a stock fuel pump suficent for the dual 40mm Dellortos?

- Cam gears, i want to sound of straight cuts... are they somthing i want to stay away from? If not, is there a quality gear set i should look into?

- Engine cooling, will the stock system be suficent? or do i need to work out a extermal oil cooler (messa style), and would adding Remmele style side air scoops routed into the engine bay help with cooling to the cylinder heads? the temps here reach 90 in the summer, but normaly its in the 70-high 80's.

- Push rods, will used stock ones work fine with H/D valve springs?

- conecting rods, will my stock rebuilt ones be fine or should i spring for the CB uni-tech rods?

-what kind of comp should i run? whats the best way to get it where i want it?

If there is anything you think looks like a bad combo... tell me im all ears to opinions!

Thanks
Jonathan

I am personally am not a big fan of full flow oil pump covers unless the case has been tapped and you plug the pump discharge passage. Another thing that has me worried is the stock rocker arm setup, I'd go with solid because I've had problems with the spring washers breaking on some stockers that I've run, let alone a 1914 with a w-120. I think the stock cooling won't be enough but maybe if you keep the compression ratio low enough you'll be alright. I know I didn't answer everything but that's a few things that screamed out at me. Good luck.

What 'screamed out to me' was the fact that you don't have your used type 1 case align bored because 'it looks good'.
I don't want to underestimate your skills of course, but I suggest you let an experienced engine builder have a look at your case since it turns out that almost 100% of all 30+ years old type 1 cases are better of with an align bore.

Take care,
Walter

The full flow kit IS NOT a cover/filteradaptor in one... what a pile of crap those are. Its a real drill and tap the case type.

I am sending the case to Rimco to have it bored out, im sure i can have them look at the bearing saddles there.
