A guy who lives in Canada just got a bug, and he is asking me what kind of preventative maintenace activities are recommended for the car ?
Since I live in a low latitude, I do not know nothing about.
Any suggestion?
Regards:confused:

regular washing and a healthy layer of wax each time, 1000mile oilchanges if he only does short trips, if he doesnt water vapour mixes with the oil and creates a sludge visible under the oilcap.. it also lives in the oil.. not good for bearings! if the journeys he does are longer, and the motor gets nice and warm and stays warm, then its not an issue. if he does a lot of driving with lights on, monthly low current top-up charges of the battery wont go amiss.. especially if the car has a dynamo..
other than that its pretty basic stuff that you should be doing anyway.. tyre pressure checks, basic servicing.. you know.. the usual stuff.

Thank you Bren. In the case the car is stored for the rest of the winter. Do you change oil of engine and transmission as the spring arrive? Does the oil suffer some degradation with low temperatures for long time if the car is not used?
Thanks in advance
