koni red bumpstops
Hey
Ive got some koni reds for my torsion beam bug. The problem is that the car is lowered quite a bit and as a result the konis are very near (read on!! ) the bumpstop when fitted to the car which isnt gonna do the handling any good. Has anyone else shortened the bump stop?? at the moment its about 3inches!!! i was gonna take it down to about 1. i cannot see as it would hurt as ive been running the stock shocks with no bumpstop at all for 4 months now. I dont really want dropped spindles as i dont like them. i would be grateful for any help guys :D Cheers Adam:D |
Adam, they can be shortened a little bit safely. Or, replace them with a shorter bump stop of a harder type of rubber, most any piece of hard rubber with a hole in it would do. I did it with a pair of 968 yellow Koni's on the front of my Single Cab. Just make sure they -never- bottom out and damage the valving/adjusting mechanism down in the shock.
Hope it helps, Brian |
so they can be shortened to suit my requirements just dont go wild?? 3 inches of bumpstop does seem to be a bit much. Ill do it down to about 1 i think, ill check when i fit em, just didnt want to damage em,
cheers Adam :D |
