New beetle antenna on old beetle

Has anyone ever put a new beetle antenna on an old beetle (on the back of the roof, just like the new 1998+ beetles)? Does anyone have any pictures of this?

i haven't, but have seen it done several times. try leveraging the search function and there might even be some pics in the gallery. if not, someone will be jumping on here with some pics i'm sure.

I had a genuine 16v Golf 'bee-sting' on my old Bay' van, never did get a long enough lead for it to recieve any radio but it looked alright :)

I did audio installs for FORD for a summer..
The antenna was a standard R&R with the rest of the crap I took out.. But the antenna was fine..
I used it to get into my 04 Ranger when I locked my self out..
after I left the Job I installed it in my b ug..
My A-1 Sidewinder was a lil loud so i pulled the sound system..
Peace Troy

There is a pretty good shot of the one on my old Supa in my members profile, I don't know how to link it. Worked better then the stock one. I'm not going to do that mod to my next Supa, though.

You used to be able to get a kit from Mid America for 20.00 USD.

i just put one on the vw i am building for someone. the hole for a genuine vw is a square hole with a coaxial antenna connection. i guess we are going to have to get the rest of the wire from somewhere.it does look really cool.
