I have also done something similar.....on the front of a type 3, i used the front discs with 5x100 bolt pattern then machined off the brakesurface so they would fit in a rotor from a 2001 jetta...

if ytou have 944 i.r.s i don't see any reason...
if ytou have 944 i.r.s i don't see any reason that 911 stuff would be better, its the same concept of design but the 944 stuf is the right length for your car to have a similar track and wheel base...

I agree the 915 shifter was good enough for...
I agree the 915 shifter was good enough for porsche for many years why would it not be good enough for your conversion......don't reinvent the wheel just make sure your shift linkage and rod function...
