Hi,
I'm just about to buy new top mounts for my 74 1303 but I'm wondering if I should buy the earlier mounts instead of the correct ones for my year. These seem better made and may have less play...

On my car I bought a weld-on threaded tube to convert to coilovers. However, with a 54mm diameter tube my maths says the tube wouldn't fit. So I'm with 1303R on this one.

Has anyone every run coilovers at the rear of an IRS bug without torsion bars?

I'm just interested, really. Seems to me it doesn't make much sense running both, and the torsion bars in my head don't seem to give any additional strength to the suspension, so any thoughts?...
