My Jacobs ignition actually uses the bosch or whatever coil you already have. The current than goes to a secondary coil that ups the voltage. On my stock engine it helped with starting and added a couple mpg. On my 2017 it does'nt seem to have any benifit that I can tell. The multiple spark discharge theory (MSD) doesn't make any sence to me. Once the mix is ignited, continuous spark is useless as I see it.
